An NGO took over 2 successfully commercial radio stations, simultaneously, in order to amplify content exclusively related to domestic violence. An unpleasant topic pierced through Romanians passive attitude and got them to experience captive relationships first-hand. With organic media only, The Captive Radio managed to reach 3 million Romanians, outperform radio and Spotify country average benchmarks for paid media. For the first time, Romanian women’s rights became a primetime topic outside of International Women’s Day.
