The company is part of the REWE Group, one of the most important European retailers, with branches in over 13 countries.The BILLA Facebook community was sending a clear message: they felt their engagement (expressed via Likes, comments, and messages) did in no way influence actual store practices regarding the offers and discounts available.In this situation, our challenge was finding a way to connect BILLA community Facebook interactions with store discounts in order to increase BILLA store sales. Strategy: We created the FIRST Social Shopping Catalogue. Starting on the 27.02 up to the 6.03, a product was published every day in The Social Catalogue Facebook Application and in a post on the BILLA Wall. People were invited to Like the product if they wanted to purchase it with a discount. In BILLA stores across the country, during the 7-8 of March, the discounted products in The Social Catalogue were available for purchase. The discount offered was proportional to the number of Likes gathered by each product, within 24 hours. Results: The products included in The Social Catalogue had a 290% increase in sales. The engagement rate of BILLA Facebook page had an amazing increase of 2200%, during the campaign, compared to the average rates; Also, BILLA had the highest number of INTERACTIONS in the category during the campaign, surpassing the interaction level registered by the Facebook page of its biggest competitor, which has a seven times bigger fan base than BILLA Romania.
