Entries now open for the 2013 Romanian Effie Awards Competition

IAA Romania and UAPR announced the tenth edition of the Romanian Effie Awards competition. Agencies can submit their works until May 27th 2013. The Awarding Gala will be held on the 13th of June 2013.

Agencies will benefit from a system of discounts that encourage participation in the competition, as follows:

  • Agencies will not pay the fee for cases that did not have a media budget, submitted in the category GoodWorks Effie – Non Profit.
  • Agencies that submit an entry for the first time will not pay the fee for the first entry;
  • Agencies that register at least six cases have a discount of 10% of the total amount.

As a competition organized by IAA Romania and UAPR, EFFIE Romania will only accept entries from agencies that have paid their full membership fee to IAA Romania or UAPR. Agencies / Companies that have overdue amounts to either IAA or UAPR cannot enter the competition before paying the debts.

IAA Romania and UAPR invite all agencies to attend the “How to win an Effie” SEMINAR on the 2nd of April 2013, starting 10.oo AM at the IAA House (126, Calea Victoriei, 3rd floor).

IAA Romania and UAPR invite all participants to attend the ―How To Win an Effie Seminar in order to fully understand the competition rules and to learn how to better prepare their entries.

Attending the seminar is FREE of CHARGE and confirmations can be made via e-mail or phone @ teodora.calin@institute.ro / 0040 728 300 570 no later than April 1st.

What changed in 2013:

1. NEW Categories
The 2013 competition introduced the following SPECIAL categories:
Brand Experience
GoodWorks EFFIE – Brands (CSR)
GoodWorks EFFIE – Non – Profit (replacing the previous Non-profit category)
Media Innovation (replacing the previous Media effectiveness)
Single Media Company Activation
Digitally Led Campaigns
Business to Business

2. Categories names, definitions and structure changes Some existent categories have been renamed, have updated definitions or structure:
Food products I has been renamed in „Packaged Food” and Food products II has been renamed in „Snacks, confectionery and deserts”.
Non Food Products category was split into „Personal Care Products & Services” and „Household Supplies & Services”.
Alcoholic Beverages was divided differently: „Alcoholic beverages – Beers” and “Alcoholic beverages – Others”.
Media & Entertainment has an updated definition.
Pharmaceuticals has an updated definition and name: „Healthcare products & Services”.

3. Shopper Marketing entries will use a separate brief, as provided in the call for entries documents.

4. All categories Gold winners can compete for Grand EFFIE, except the “Sustained Success” winners. All campaigns competing for Grand EFFIE should have provoked a change in consumer behavior.
